About Threads of Peace
Transforming & Connecting communities through peace,
inclusion, and hope
About Us
From grassroots beginnings to a growing peace movement, discover our story, values, and the dedicated team behind Threads of Peace.
How it all started?
Threads of Peace, began as a grassroots initiative in 2012 and was officially registered as an organization in 2019. It was founded by a group of young individuals who, amidst a period of uncertainty and transition, came together in search of purpose, belonging, and a shared commitment to make a difference.
Drawn from diverse backgrounds, this founding group formed a cohesive collective united by a humanitarian mission: to respond to context and needs, to all communities, while embodying a message of hope, inclusion, and peace. Their differences became a strength, a reflection of the kind of society they aspired to build.
Over time, this group evolved into what became affectionately known as a “family.”
Though many of the original members have since moved on, the values, mission, and spirit they nurtured continue to guide the organization today.
Threads of Peace has since grown into a vibrant, virtual house, a dynamic and ever-expanding community dedicated to promoting peace, advancing conflict sensitivity, and building bridges
across divides in society.

Our Approach At
Threads Of Peace
Our Approach At
Threads Of Peace
- We strengthen relationships, trust, and civic engagement
- We create space for participants to build skills, access opportunities, and cocreate initiatives that respond to their community’s needs
- Our process contributes directly to SDG 16
- It also supports broader outcomes: inclusion, livelihoods, empowerment, gender equality, and wellbeing
In practice, we see how progress on other goals reinforces the foundations of peace, and how inclusive, peaceful spaces make wider development efforts more meaningful and sustainable. This dual movement is central to our multidimensional peacebuilding model.
Peace: The Thread That Weaves All Changes Together.
Our work under Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions reinforces progress in every commitment, proving that sustainable peace is the foundation of sustainable development.
